Co-working spaces to check out in KL and PJ

posted by Susan Lau April 24, 2018 0 comments

Not all of us work out of an office, heck, some of us prefer it that way. Once you score a deal like that, the next logical thing to work out is where to do your work. Sure, you can do it at home but unless you have a resolve of steel, your bed, television, pet or even household chores can be huge distractions.

Ideally, your workspace needs to have plenty of power plugs, fast internet and for some, free flow coffee! Cafes sound like the best place to do this but needing to pay about RM10 for a coffee and more for something to eat might not be feasible especially if you just started freelancing.

This is where a co-working space comes in and here’re some suggestions on places to check out.

Herserlef

Herserlef prides itself with being a quiet and peaceful place to get things done. It provides free flow of snacks, beverages and premium coffee, for the caffeine dependent. They charge RM0.18 per minute or just RM16.20 a day but it can get crowded so do call ahead to check if there’s space.

WORQ Coworking Space

Working freelance means it’ll be a little difficult when it comes to needing a proper place to hold meetings. Calling itself a flexi-lease office, WORQ provides meeting rooms of different sizes that can hold up to 30 people at half hourly rates. Other than meeting rooms, WORQ also has hot desks if you need a place to work before and after a meeting, a dedicated desk so you’ll have your own desk in a shared suite, and even a private suite if you need the privacy.

What’s best about this place is that it is accessible 24/7 for members via access card and it’s connected to the TTDI MRT station. For more information on their pricing, check their website out here.

The Success Factory

With such a name, it seems like good luck to work out of The Success Factory. It provides the building blocks of success, namely, a comfortable workspace, wifi and a printer, at RM35 a day or RM600 a month. They also have events for entrepreneurs, how to effectively give presentations and more.
